NACPAN-CALITANG TWIN BEACHES
For our third day, we planned to go to Nacpan-Calitang Twin Beaches, Marimegmeg Beach, and watch the sunset in Corong- Corong. But, we ended up just staying in Nacpan and back to El Nido town.
The day before, I rented a scooter to be used for our activities on Day 3. The original plan was to hire a tricycle that will tour us to the said places. I’ve insisted on this because I was excited about having the freedom of where and how we will get to our destination, even if I’m not good at driving a scooter. I’ve tried once but it didn’t end well.
The owner gave me the keys and taught me how to operate them. The first time I sat on it, I tried to Gauge how should I drive it. When everything felt okay, Caryl, rode on my back and we were good to go.
For the first hour, we were able to maintain our balance. Everything is fine. We can feel the wind against us. It was fun! But a downward slope surprised me, and I lost control and we fell. I acquired 3 wounds, Caryl, 1 wound, and a sprain. I was terrified and worried for Caryl and me. But despite the bleeding and pain, we still continued to Nacpan. I was disoriented and on full alert while driving. Fortunately, we didn’t get into any problems anymore even if the road to Nacpan was rough.
So, If you’re not adept at driving a scooter, I recommend contracting a tricycle. Don’t be hard-headed like me! XD
TWIN BEACHES
NACPAN BEACH
After 2 hours, we finally arrived at Nacpan Beach. The place is amazing. White sand beach, clear waters, and an unspoiled place. It is a 4 km stretch of sand. We rest for a while and ate at a food shack nearby called Prince Restaurant.
We walked by the beach and took pictures. We also took a dip even if we have open wounds.
CALITANG BEACH
At the leftmost part of Nacpan are Calitang, its twin beach, and a hill where I saw a good view of both beaches and the sea beyond it.
Around 3 P.M., we decided to return back to El Nido. Upon returning, we dressed our wounds and rested for a while before having our dinner and exploring the town again.
Seeing Nacpan and Calitang was a bittersweet experience. We got into an accident but saw the place’s beauty. We were grateful that it was just a minor injury. It was an adventure. We told ourselves, we wanted to visit it again and the places we planned to visit but weren’t able to. But, this time, in a safer way.
