HOT POT KID
There was a time in my 20s that I get excited when I hear and see new unlimited buffet restaurants in the metro, resulting in wanting to try each one of them. The variety of food you can taste and the satisfaction of being full in one dining provide this feeling of abundance and pure satisfaction. But my cravings for unlimited buffets came to an end when those restaurants started serving low-quality food and services. Fortunately this time, my excitement and satisfaction were redeemed by a restaurant called Hot Pot Kid.
My friend Casey recommended to me Hot Pot Kid. At first, I didn’t have any expectations since I’m not a fan of unlimited buffets anymore but I think it is worth a try since I love and always crave for a hot rich soup.
Hot Pot Kid is located in Mayon Street near Welcome Rotonda just a few kilometers from the Food Hub of Banawe. The restaurant was very clean and organized. Bowls, saucers, ladles, and other utensils were clean and stacked accordingly and the induction cookers were well-maintained. The staff was nice and very accommodating.
The restaurant serves hotpots with different tasteful soup bases and offers unlimited toppings, skewers, and tempura. Depending on your preference, you can get the standard hotpot with unlimited veggies, sides, and toppings or the premium hotpot wherein you can also have additional unlimited skewers and tempura.
SOUP AND TOPPINGS OVERLOAD
We got the premium hotpot and chose the Mala and Laksa soup bases. The soups are rich in flavor and have a kick of spiciness which really gave life to our appetite. We added fresh vegetables such as enoki, white and brown Shimeji mushrooms, bokchoy, and corn slices. We also added sliced meat and balls like lobster balls, cheese balls, and tofus to complete the elements of the hotpot. You can also add eggs, noodles, pork enokis, and many more depending on your cravings. The skewers like the pork isaw, beef enoki, and shrimp were also delicious, the seasonings added to them enhanced their taste and you’ll want more. The tempura was very crispy and when partnered with the sauce it was a perfect combination.
In addition to the hotpot, we also had their rice bowls such as Beef Gyudon, Chicken Teriyaki, and Salt & Pepper Pork which were really delicious. The Beef Gyudon was my favorite especially when you break the yolk of the egg and mix it with the rice and meat. A perfect mixture of savory taste. We ended our meal with the free iced tea and ice cream included in the package.
Our experience with Hot Pot Kid brought back memories of my excitement and pursuit of unlimited buffets. The rich soup and fresh meat and veggies make me want to go back and satisfy my recurring cravings for hot and delicious soup. If you are looking for another food adventure in the Banawe area, make sure to make a stop at this delicious unlimited hotpot restaurant and I’m sure you’ll leave full and satisfied.
