CREATIVE COFFEE AT KAPE MAPYA

It is very fascinating to see a business sprout out of nowhere — from an idea or a hobby to a tangible result of a dream. Kape Mapya is one example of this.
Jampol Catibog loved making his coffee at home and also wanted to make money out of it, so he made his craft into his own business. He named his coffee shop after his mother which he called Kape Mapya.
Kape Mapya is located in Taytay Rizal, a small coffee shop just in front of a titan business, Jollibee. When I first saw the store, I thought of Tiny House meets Coffee. Cool Right? It is very interesting to see a tiny space turned into an amazing site. The store was designed and built with the help of his father. It looked like a part of a shipping container but it is only made of concrete covered with galvanized aluminum sheets painted in black. Just looking at the black and wood theme shows that the store offers excellent quality products. Another cool thing about the shop is it is designed to save and maximize space. Its counter, where people stay and dine, can be folded and serve as a cover when the shop is closed. These simple designs just amaze me more of Jampol and his father’s creativity.
COFFEE FROM MOKA
Kape Mapya is a coffee shop that uses Moka pots to brew its coffee beans. For less than ₱100.00, you can have your daily dose of coffee. Not just your typical coffee but a quality one. We ordered a Spanish Latte and since we love coffee, we also tried their Americano and it was amazing. We were palpitating going home but it quenched our thirst for good coffee. It was very nice meeting Jampol and hearing his story. He showed us that you don’t have to start big but just start small and be creative. We wish him good luck in his new business and looking forward to visiting his shop again. Cheers!
