Travel Guide

When I want to spend time in the water, I prefer going to the beaches, falls, or rivers rather than to pool resorts. I like getting wet around nature more than being in a pool — feeling the earth rather than the concrete and tiles. We were looking for a nearby resort where we could just chill and swim, preferably a beach resort. We checked Facebook and found nothing that we liked at that time. Then, my girlfriend bumped into a resort called Villa Jovita Resort in Agoncillo, Batangas – a pool resort.

VILLA JOVITA RESORT

There is something different with Villa Jovita Resort. It is composed of pools surrounded by nature—swaying bamboo trees and a river. But what’s more wonderful about the resort is that it uses spring water for its pool rather than the water we’re used to — water with chlorine. No harmful chemicals, just clean and clear natural water.

Villa Jovita was a home converted into a resort.  Rooms are located in the house and just below the house area are where the pools, benches, and huts are located. There are 5 pools in total that were constructed in levels. This resulted to the water continuously flowing down to the bottom pool and then straight to the river.

What I liked about it the most was that the resort was designed to be in line with nature. It is surrounded by bamboo trees and the river.  There’s a feeling of zen surrounding the area. If you want to feel relaxed and at peace, this is the place to spend that vacation.

CRYSTAL CLEAR

We arrived in the afternoon and planned to rent a room but other guests were first to rent them so we ended up renting a tent. They offered a tent with pillows and covers which we pitched beside the huts. It was not the peak season so we enjoyed the pool by ourselves and with a couple of guests. Swimming while watching and listening to the striking bamboo. That night, we cooked our own dinner and stayed under the stars. The next day was probably when I appreciated the place more. The rays of the sun reflected onto the surface of the water which made the pool look like liquid crystals.

I thought Villa Jovita was a typical resort but I was wrong. This probably was one of the most chill places I’ve ever been to. A haven where we found peace and are surrounded by nature.
