MIRADOR HERITAGE AND ECO PARK

Mirador Heritage and Eco Park - Baguio City, Benguet (Travel Guide)

When I was a kid, one of my dreams is to visit Japan because of the anime, Samurai X. I wanted to see the culture, architecture, and nature there. One of the iconic scenes from the series is the battle between two samurais in the middle of a bamboo forest. It is probably fun being surrounded by bamboo and I was imagining doing different shots with it. But since traveling during this pandemic is still restricted, the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove in Mirador Heritage and Eco-Park might suffice for now.

Mirador Heritage and Eco-Park is one of the newest destinations in Baguio City. It is located where the famed Lourdes Grotto stands. The park is huge, covering the top of Mirador Hill. Some parts of the park are based on known tourist destinations in Kyoto, Japan, including the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and the Tori Gate at the Mirador Peace Memorial. Aside from those, the park houses the Jesuit Villa and Retreat House and Cafe Inigo by Ebai.

Just near the entrance of the park is the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and I was excited to do my Yowa Yowa shot while being surrounded by bamboo grasses. We did not reach the Tori Gate at the Mirador Peace Memorial but the view of Baguio City from the Rock Gardens was enough to appreciate what Mirador has to offer. We just sat there on one of the benches and looked at the mountain houses and trees.
