Gashapon machines are coin-operated vending machines that release a capsule with a random toy inside. They are found all over Japan, which makes locals and tourists go crazy. Each machine may vary depending on what anime or category you choose and may contain rare items that may reach high prices in secondhand markets.
This November, Mitsukoshi Mall finally brought the famous Gashapon Bandai Official’s toy-vending machines here in Bonifacio Global City, with multiple rows consisting of 300 machines. You can choose from different selections, including anime figures, keychains, animals, etc. I saw figures from Anime, Super Sentai, and cartoons like Gundam, One Piece, Spy x Family, Ultraman, Hunter x Hunter, Masked Rider, Hello Kitty, Tom & Jerry, Peanuts, and many more.
Here are the steps to get your Gashapon capsule:
- Buy the tokens at the counter; you can pay via cash or through GCASH
- Check all machines first so that you can prioritize the ones you like, and then select you’re desired vending machine.
- Check the number of tokens required and insert the tokens.
- Turn the handle until you hear your capsule fall into the bin.
- Get your capsule in the bin and enjoy.
