IZAKAYA MANMARU

Manmaru's Dining Area

When visiting Legazpi Village in Makati City, one place that stands out that locals and even foreigners enjoy is Little Tokyo. A compound that houses different authentic Japanese restaurants. But just across the street, a must-try Japanese Izakaya and restaurant is also inviting everyone to try their delectable Japanese dishes. Originally from Osaka, Izakaya Manmaru offers delicious Japanese meals and alcoholic drinks that Filipinos and foreigners will surely love.

Izakaya Manmaru opened its first restaurant in the Philippines last 2019 just before the pandemic. It resides on the ground floor of the famous Makati Central Square. A place where locals and foreigners can drink and dine at the same time. They offer ramen, soba, udon, sushis, yakitoris, okonomiyaki, donburi bowls, sake, wines, shochu and many more.

CELEBRATING AT MANMARU

We visited Manmaru to celebrate Julie’s promotion. Fortunately, there was no line when we arrived, as most of the time, the line here is long. The place was jampacked even if we arrived at 2:00 in the afternoon. We ordered different dishes including Ebi Tempura, Yose Nabe, Aburi Salmon Roll, Gyu Enoki Maki, and Gomoku Chahan.

Jampacked during lunch time

I loved all of the food we ordered, especially the Yose Nabe since I like soup dishes. The Ebi Tempura is perfect – the shrimp is covered with the right amount of breading. The Aburi Salmon Roll is also full of ingredients, they did not cut it short. At first, I thought there was something missing, but the thing is I forgot to add wasabi and soy sauce. When dipped into the sauce, the roll is now complete. We were very full and satisfied at the end.

I was grateful that we were able to try Manmaru, the food is good and the price is not that expensive. If you are hanging out in Makati, you should visit and try Manmaru!
